Drama Club members, Kennady Sapp, Emory Black, and Aria Mishra were guests on KMEM’s Coffee Break this morning. They were promoting their upcoming Spring performance. This year’s play will be held March 16 and 17 at the Memphis Theater. Saturday’s performance will start at 6:00 PM and Sunday’s performance starts at 4:00 PM. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the high school office or at the theater on the evening of each performance.

Dear Parents and Guardians, The Social Studies department received a grant through the Daughters of the American Revolution. With this grant we were able to host a traveling history exhibit and a field trip. The field trip will be open for students 7th-12th grades. We will need this form back to either Mr. McCluskey or Mr. Lucas by March 8th to secure tickets. The tentative schedule goes as follows: Saturday March 16, 2024 6:00 am- Leave School 10.00 am- Arrive at the St Charles Revolutionary War Museum 1:00 pm- Arrive at the Arch to eat. 2:00 pm-5:00 pm- Arch museum, tram ride and boat tour. 5:00 pm- Supper 9:00- 10:00 pm - Approximate arrival home time At this time students will only be responsible for breakfast, snacks and/or souvenirs. Scotland County Schools will be on a two hour delay today (Wednesday, February 28). School will begin at 10:00 a.m. this morning. There will be no morning clubs at the elementary school, breakfast will not be served this morning, and there will be no morning ECSE preschool.

Dear Parents and Guardians, I have rescheduled the Federal Courthouse for Monday, March 11th. As a reminder, this will be a Monday that school will not be in session so accurate numbers are needed so tour guides can be scheduled appropriately. This tends to be a field trip that students reminisce on due to the positive impact it leaves on our students. We will leave the school around 6 am and return around 6 pm. An exact leave time will be set once I receive the new agenda. Students will need their identification to enter the courthouse and will need to dress appropriately in business dress attire. There will be no cost to the student besides food. Please return this slip by March 1st so I can give our host accurate attendance numbers. Alicia Wollmering will be present to assist students and parents with FAFSA applications on 2/19/24 at SCR-1 High School from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Feel free to stop by to ask your questions or complete the FAFSA onsite. Students should have a list of items that are needed to complete the FAFSA (2022 Federal Form 1040). A FAFSA ID should be completed prior to that day. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mrs. Hamm at the high school.

The SCR-1 Jr/Sr High Drama Club will be presenting this year's production, "No Signs of Intelligent Life", a comedy by Bryan Starchman, March 16th (6:00 p.m.) & 17th (4:00 p.m.) at the Memphis Theatre. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from the high school office. The ticket price for this year's play is $5.00. The play will be presented in two parts with a brief intermission between parts. Concessions will be available in the theatre lobby.
