Coach Lucas and ten members of the high school girls track team have departed for Adkins Stadium at Jefferson City High School to compete in the MSHSAA Track & Field State Championships. These talented ladies will represent Scotland County in seven events across Friday and Saturday. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, and we know the entire community stands behind them. Best of luck this weekend!

Girls Basketball Camp for students in third through eighth grade will be held on Tuesday, June 30, and Wednesday, July 1. Please note that the dates listed on the original form were incorrect. A revised form was sent home with students this afternoon. If you haven't already done so, please return the permission slip and payment to the elementary office as soon as possible.

Kwayde Hamilton triples and scores Tayte Richmond in the bottom of the first. The Tigers are on the board but trail Putnam County 4-1. Heine helps his own cause with an RBI single, making it 4-2.
Congratulations to Tayte Richmond and Carter Clatt on being selected to the Lewis & Clark All Conference Baseball Teams. Tayte is a First Team honoree for the second consecutive season, and this year’s selection marks his fourth appearance in as many years on one of the all-conference baseball teams. Carter’s selection to the Second Team gives him the distinction of earning all-conference honors in the fall (football), winter (basketball), and spring (baseball). Congratulations, guys!

Baseball Scheduling Update
In an effort to stay ahead of the weather, tonight’s district baseball games will begin 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled. Schuyler County and Canton will play the first of two games with a 4:30 p.m. first pitch. Scotland County will play Putnam County immediately following the conclusion of the Schuyler County-Canton game. The bus will depart for Queen City at 4:15 p.m.
Good luck to Levi Stott as he is 20 minutes away from tee time at State Golf at River-cut Golf Course in Springfield Missouri!!

Summer Weight Lifting Begins on Monday, May 25. The weight room will be open each day with several options to fit your busy schedules. No excuses!

The girls had another strong showing Saturday at the MSHSAA Class 1 Sectional 2 Meet in Centralia, finishing SECOND out of 31 scoring teams!
We qualified for State in 7 of our 12 events and did not finish lower than sixth place in any event all day. I am extremely proud of the girls’ performance and the hard work they have put in all season long!

We would like to congratulate and thank Tayte Richmond, Lillian Frederick, Rhyder Johnson, and Lexi Weber for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to sportsmanship. Through their behavior, role modeling, and participation in interscholastic activities, they have been selected as recipients of the NFHS Award of Excellence. The Missouri State High School Activities Association and the National Federation of State High School Associations proudly recognize and congratulate these students for earning this honor. We encourage them to take pride in this distinction and to continue serving as positive role models within their school and community.

The girls had a great day at Districts today, bringing home a second-place plaque!
All of the girls competed at a high level today. We had several outstanding performances in both the throwing events and on the track that came up just short, while eight different athletes qualified for Sectionals.
Thankfully, this is a very young team, and we will only be graduating one athlete who competed today. I am extremely proud of this group of young ladies and the hard work, determination, and heart they continue to show.
Next Saturday, we will compete in 12 different events at Sectionals in Centralia!
