Coach Lucas and ten members of the high school girls track team have departed for Adkins Stadium at Jefferson City High School to compete in the MSHSAA Track & Field State Championships. These talented ladies will represent Scotland County in seven events across Friday and Saturday. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, and we know the entire community stands behind them. Best of luck this weekend!

Congratulations to Tayte Richmond and Carter Clatt on being selected to the Lewis & Clark All Conference Baseball Teams. Tayte is a First Team honoree for the second consecutive season, and this year’s selection marks his fourth appearance in as many years on one of the all-conference baseball teams. Carter’s selection to the Second Team gives him the distinction of earning all-conference honors in the fall (football), winter (basketball), and spring (baseball). Congratulations, guys!

The girls had another strong showing Saturday at the MSHSAA Class 1 Sectional 2 Meet in Centralia, finishing SECOND out of 31 scoring teams! We qualified for State in 7 of our 12 events and did not finish lower than sixth place in any event all day. I am extremely proud of the girls’ performance and the hard work they have put in all season long!

The girls had a great day at Districts today, bringing home a second-place plaque! All of the girls competed at a high level today. We had several outstanding performances in both the throwing events and on the track that came up just short, while eight different athletes qualified for Sectionals. Thankfully, this is a very young team, and we will only be graduating one athlete who competed today. I am extremely proud of this group of young ladies and the hard work, determination, and heart they continue to show. Next Saturday, we will compete in 12 different events at Sectionals in Centralia!
