Westran outlasts the Lady Tigers in extra innings

High School Softball Scheduling Update
The softball field isn’t responding well to the current conditions. Today’s weather is not conducive to drying, with high humidity, complete cloud cover, and zero wind. Conditions will need to improve dramatically over the next couple of hours for the softball field to be playable by 5:00. The baseball field, however, is ready, and we could play on it right now. Therefore, we are moving forward with the games being played on the baseball field rather than the softball field. Thank you for your understanding.
Scotland County was well represented at the Highland XC meet tonight. Bringing home a 1st place medal was Hallie Trueblood for Jr. High. Our varsity girls team came in 3rd place. The individuals bringing home medals were Georgia Taylor in 2nd place, Kierstyn Moore in 7th place, and Reagan Brewer in 8th place. Silas Willams made his XC debut coming in with a speedy time and placing 33rd out of 54 runners!! Congratulations to all the runners on a very successful meet!

Scotland County vs Cardinal (Eldon, IA)

As we head into tomorrow, it looks like we have one more day of the heat before conditions begin to improve. The temperature is currently forecast to reach or exceed 95 degrees tomorrow afternoon. To help address the heat, a decision has been made to push the start of tomorrow night’s game back to 6:30 p.m. While I can’t predict exactly what the weather conditions will look like at game time, I believe being proactive and erring on the side of caution by moving the game back is the right decision. I understand this decision may not be ideal for everyone, but the safety of our players remains our top priority. Thank you for your understanding.

This week is shaping up to be a hot one, with the temperature currently forecast to reach or exceed 96 degrees tomorrow afternoon. In conjunction with Clark County, a decision has been made to push the start of tomorrow night’s game back to 7:00 p.m. I can’t predict exactly what the weather conditions will look like at game time, I believe being proactive and erring on the side of caution by moving the game back an hour is the right decision. I understand this decision may not be ideal for everyone, but player safety is the top priority. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
