Part I of the the novel is labeled “My Father Bleeds History.” While reading the book, the students discuss the topic of community history. Yesterday, the students spent the day interviewing community members about a major historical event they have experienced. The students will then turn these interviews into their own comic books in order to represent the stories they have took the time to hear and learn about.
