Color Wars!!

Mrs. Kiger’s class read the graphic novel Maus, a true story about a Holocaust survivor. Part I of the book is labeled “My Father Bleeds History.” The class uses this opportunity to discuss how the members of our community are our history books, as well as why it is important to get information from primary sources (our community members). After this discussion, students were assigned a member of the community to interview about a historical event they experienced. The class reviewed how to conduct professional interviews as well as how to send a professional email to prepare for these interviews. Students will now create their own graphic novel to represent both their interview and the historical event the community member experienced.
We would like to thank all the community members who made this event possible.
