Missouri Football Coaches Association Names Nine High School Players and one Coach from around the state for MFCA Hands Team Award for 2023
Dec. 8 - The Missouri Football Coaches Association has released their 2023 MFCA Hands Team. This award exemplifies the selflessness and community service displayed by Missouri high school student-athletes who make outstanding contributions in the areas of volunteerism and civic involvement and embody the true spirit of “teamwork” and “giving back” through commendable acts of kindness. It honors their dedication to volunteerism and enriching the lives of others.
Earlier this season, Missouri high school Head Football Coaches and/or members of the coaching staff, high school Principals and guidance counselors across the state submitted nominations of players they felt best embodied the spirit of the Hands Team award. A voting panel consisting of members of the Missouri Football Coaches Association from around the state selected the award recipients.
“For me, the MFCA Hands Team embodies what it means to be successful as a student-athlete,” said Brian Van Hauen (Asst. Coach - Liberty High School) Chairman of the MFCA Hands Team Committee. “I know it is important to develop the skills of players on the field, but it is far greater to encourage these young people to see all the positive things they can do off the field and help them realize the influence they can have in their communities.”
The following players and coach have been named to the 2023 MFCA Hands Team:
Devin Adams - Springfield Central - Springfield
Mason Carel - Tipton
Tristin Dusold - Affton
Gage Gibson - Van-Far R-1
Will Jennings - Oak Grove
Jack Lambert - Pembroke Hill - Kansas City
Titus McBee - Penney HS - Hamilton
Logan Treloar - Truman HS - Independence
Jacob Winkelbaur - Bishop LeBlond - St. Joseph
Coach Jason Small - Scotland Co. R-1
“The 2023 MFCA Hands Team members are terrific examples of the great student-athletes and coaches that are on high school football teams all across our state,” said Van Hauen. “The MFCA takes great pride in honoring these outstanding individuals, who go above and beyond to make their schools and communities a better place.”
Scotland County R-1 Schools will dismiss tomorrow, Wednesday, December 20th at 1:31 pm for winter break and resume classes on January 3rd, 2024. We would like to wish all our students, staff and families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
