Celebrating Talent: High School Art Day at Culver-Stockton College Culver-Stockton College recently hosted its annual High School Art Day. Scotland County R-1 art students, including Amiah Durham, Brooklyn Fuller, Alice Darland, Emma Anders, Aria Mishra, Tessa Trimby, Holly Mauk, Morgan Jackson, Kennedy Middleton, Sarah Xavier, and Sophia Xavier, were in attendance. The event involved 14 different schools, and over 100 art pieces competed. Among the standout talents were Emma Anders and Amiah Durham, who were recognized for their exceptional artwork. Emma's graphite portrait earned her a 2nd place (Silver) award, while Amiah was honored for her vibrant watercolor painting. In addition to the awards, students participated in workshops covering Printmaking, Reductive Painting, Graphic Design, and Photography. These hands-on experiences allowed students to explore new mediums and techniques in a college classroom.

Miss. Hunt and Mrs. Rader did a collaboration today for Pi Day with her Geometry class and my second graders. Levi read a book about Pi Day to the class, second graders then filled out a worksheet telling what they learned and then we made crowns to celebrate!

A big, thank you to Judge Webber today for the special behind-the-scenes tour for Scotland County. The tour consisted of several guest speakers, multiple courtroom, tours, sitting in on a sentencing, hearing, a visit to the Federal Marshal’s office(with a special visit from the bomb dog), multiple behind-the-scenes views, and lunch purchased by Judge Webber. This is always a special visit for our school because of our well respected tour guide Scotland County native, Judge Webber!
