With the support of grant money provided through the Daughters of the American Revolution, Scotland County High School would like to welcome any member of the community to participate in an exhibition entitled "Freedom: A History of US." This traveling exhibit is offered through the Gilder-Lehrman Institute of American History, and discusses the establishment and struggles for freedom in the United States from the American Revolution through the Civil Rights Movement. A series of panels provides numerous historical artifacts ranging from the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, letters from Civil War soldiers, and notes and letters by Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Susan B. Anthony, and Martin Luther King, Jr. This event will be open to the public on Wednesday, September 27th from 5pm to 8pm. If you are interested, Scotland County High School would appreciate the opportunity to share this historical exploration into the fundamental principle of freedom in American history. The event will be held in the high school library.
