First day of workouts!
Mrs. Knupp's English IV students have started their "Night" unit. Over the course of the next five weeks, senior English students will be studying the Holocaust, dehumanization, and humanitarian practices. In addition to background information leading up to and throughout the Holocaust time period, students will also read the autobiography, "Night". This book, written by Elie Wiesel, tells his story as a Holocaust survivor. His experiences were horrific but his message to people for the rest of his life continued to be that "Indifference is more dangerous than hatred". HIs work was to "instill a universal human obligation to fight oppression and persecution no matter where it occurs". The unit will conclude with each student completing a research project about a humanitarian hero of their choice.
We've added a junior varsity girls contest vs Canton on Thursday, February 1. The junior varsity girls will play prior to the junior varsity boys basketball game vs Putnam County. Tip time is scheduled for 6:00.
