JV Lady Tigers give up 3 in the bottom of the 3rd but hold on to win 9-7. Varsity Ladies move to 1-1

Next up a conference match up with Westran on Thursday 9/11.
Kenzie Miller with a 2 RBI double in the 3rd. JV Tigers put up 3 more. Now lead 9-4 going to the bottom of 3.
JV Ladies put up 3 more in the second but allow 3 in the bottom half. Still up 6-4.
JV Lady Tigers put up 3 in the first inning only allowing 1. They lead 3-1 after 1.
Lady Tigers take their first win of the season. 21-8 in 7 innings over the Atlanta Lady Hornets.
Lady Tigers score 5 in the top of 7, including another in the park homerun by Wentworth. Lead 21-8 with a half inning to play.
Ladies put up 4 in the 6th give up 1. Now lead 16-8.
Lady Tigers go down in order in the top of the 5th. Lady Hornets threaten but the Tigers get out of it. 12-7
No runs in the 4th for either team. Tigers still up 12-7.
Lady Tigers put up 2 in the top of the 3rd on an in the park homerun by Wentworth. Hold the Hornets to zero. Now lead 14-7 after 3.
Lady Tigers put up 7 in the top of the 2nd but give up 5 in the bottom half. Still lead after two 12-7.
Lady Tigers give up a couple but maintain the early lead. Up 5-2 after 1.
Tiger Tales Writing Club started this week, and we are off to a great start. We are exploring our writing skills and learning about the world of publishing.
As a way to learn about the publishing process, we are beginning to work on a children's book series. It will be centered around our very own Spike, the tiger. Students in the club will be in charge of writing and illustrating the book with supervision from Mrs. Kiger. Upon completion, it will be available to purchase as a fundraiser for the club. The money from this fundraiser will then be used to help students publish their own writing, paying for things such as book covers, editing, and more.

A big thank you to Katie Harris for taking the time to visit the eighth grade careers class and share her experience as a juvenile officer. Katie’s presentation was informative, engaging, and gave the students valuable insight into the important work that a juvenile officer does.
Kirk Stott, Scotland County High School Head Varsity Football Coach, presented a program to the members of the Rotary Club of Scotland County on September 3, 2025, at their noon meeting at Keith's Cafe. Coach Stott reported on 35 players dressing out this season on the varsity team and approximately 20 players on the Junior High team. Other varsity coaches are Dave Shalley, Matt Wickert, Jordan Fulk and Jason Small. The Junior High head coach is Brent Bondurant, assisted by Chris Cerroni, Alex Long, Jim Long and Landyn Swearingen. The football alumni and community has supported many fundraisers that have resulted in new equipment for the program over the last several years. The SC Tiger football team recently helped the members of the Rotary Club of Scotland County put up and take down the BINGO tent for the Antique Fair.
