Scotland County High School Seniors Lauren Triplett and Elsie Kigar were selected as finalists to present their American Patriot Scholarship essays to the members of the Rotary Club of Scotland County on May 10, 2023. This scholarship was created by an anonymous donor who is a veteran and has local ties to Scotland County. The scholarship is for a graduating senior at Scotland County R-1 High School who is planning to attend a higher education institution. The scholarship is paid directly to the school that the recipient is enrolled and attending. The scholarship amount is $3,000 and the winner will be announced at the Awards Night at Scotland County High School on May 16.
